BQ33100EVM-001: Minimum Voltage

Part Number: BQ33100EVM-001
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ33100

Hello

I'm looking to balance and charge 2 of Eatons XT3585-3R0567-R 555 farad capacitors in series. Max individual capacitor voltage is 3V, ESR 2.6m Ohms, Leak Current 1.30 mA. The power supply to be used output is 5.060 volts and 3 amps max. Will the BQ33100EVM-001 be able to charge and balance the capacitors with this power supply? What is the minimum volt amps required to power the BQ33100EVM-001?

Thank you,

  • Hello Tamaar,

The EVM does not have a charger included, it is only for monitoring and balancing the capacitors. You can see the required voltage and current of the BQ33100 on the datasheet, supply current is 660uA under normal conditions and the voltage must be 3.8V MIN.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
