Hello Stefan, I the most critical thing would be to ensure sufficient ripple injection across the vout range. Proper design of an external ripple injection circuit and/or adaption of the fsw can ensure that the device has sufficient ripple injection.

Upon further digging into this device's operation, I have found the ripple injection to be generated internally.

With appropriate selection of Ron and Cout, I believe you will find acceptable performance.

I recommend you select Ron to be 499kOhm and Cout to be 100uF. The lower switching frequency should ensure that you have sufficient ripple for appropriate regulation.

For experimentation purposes, I recommend you add a series "ESR" resistor with the output capacitor to provide additional ESR ripple in the case you find in your evaluation, at higher output voltages you have stability issues.

Some experimentation will be needed as this is a rather unique design. I can help along the way.

I think you are better (at least for prototype board) to have discrete resistor placeholder for "ESR" resistor in series with output capacitor.

This will allow for more flexibility.
