BQ78350-R1: SOC and CEDV parameter

Part Number: BQ78350-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi team,

Here's some questions from the customer may need your help:

1.CEDV parameters and chem IDs have been updated as required, but the SOC cannot reach 0%.

2.Regading Fixed EV0, 1, 2, is it set to single cell voltage? Or based on the number of strings?

3. After full charge-full discharge-full charge, why does MAX ERROR not update, and still 100%?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hi Cherry,

If the Max Error is not getting updated, that means the gauge has not detected a successful qualified discharge so the FCC has not been updated. (see Section 9.1.6 of the TRM for the conditions for a qualified discharge).

If they have configured the CEDV parameters and have set the [EDV_CMP] bit in the CEDV Gauging Configuration register, then the Fixed EDV values are not used. If the [EDV_CMP] bit is set to zero, the gauge will use the Fixed EDV parameters and these should be set based on a single cell voltage.

If they need help to debug, please send their .gg.csv file (data flash settings) and a log file showing the full discharge (a log file can be recorded by clicking the 'Start Log' button in the BQStudio Registers screen).

    Best regards,

    Matt
