BQ24250: LDO is partially enabled without input voltage

Part Number: BQ24250

Hello,

I am using the BQ24250 ic as charger for a 1 Lithium cell battery. The problem is that the voltage in LDO pin is about 2.15V instead of 0V when no input is connected (5V rail come from a USB connector). It causes power consumption since a couple of resistors is connected to TS pin and GND.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you in advance

Here you can find the schematic.

  • Hi Jose,

The LDO should not have an output when VBUS is below UVLO.  What is the voltage on VBUS?  Is the 3.3V pull up rail for STAT and EN1 up?  If that is removed, does the LDO voltage go away?

    Regards,

    Jeff

  • Hii Jeff,

VBUS is 0v since there is no input however 3.3v rail is up because it comes from VSYS regulation and the battery is connected.

I followed your recomendation and I tied EN1 to LDO instead 3.3V and it solved the problem! But I couldnt find anything related to avoid pulling EN1 to high level where there is no input in VBUS in the datasheet.

    Thank you!
