4.5Vin to 50Vout 1A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5122-Q1, LM5158-Q1, LM5122, LM5158, LM5156-Q1, LM5155-Q1, LM5156

Hi Team,

just want to check if there is below boost solution.

Vin=4.5V

Vout=50V

Iout = 1A

Q100

Checked website, seems only controller such as LM5122-Q1 can achieve that since Ipeak is very high, right?

Then for converter, such as LM5158-Q1, what's the max Vout it can achieve when Vin=4.5V, Iout=1A?  Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

    The Ipeak should be a big issue with the LM5122-Q1.  I am more concerning about the max duty cycle which is needed for this ~11x step up ratio.  Note that LM5122's min off time which could limit the achievable max duty cycle if your targeted switching frequency is high.

    The LM5158 is a converter having internal current limit of ~3A, not big enough to support this application.

    I would recommend the LM5155d or LM5156x.  Please take a look.

    Thanks,

  • Hi team,

    The requirement of this thread posted by Given is from my customer. Customer just changes the system requirement.

    Vin=9V

    Vout=60V

    Pout = 25W

    Q100

    Could you recommend a device?

  • Hi Lijia,

    I would recommend the LM5156-Q1 or the LM5155-Q1.  The two devices are p2p compatible, but the LM5156 has the spread spectrum options.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
