LM5156H-Q1: Generate negative voltage - Cuk Topology

Part Number: LM5156H-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5156H

Hello,

We are planning use the LM5156H controller in the Cuk topology configuration to generate -5V/0.8A, -15V/0.5A from regulated +5V. The app note SLVA257A shows an example of using a buck controller to generate negative voltage. In our design we already use LM5156H in the boost topology. We wanted re-use the same part for negative rails also. Please confirm if LM5156H can be used in Cuk topology with it's GND pin connected to the negative output voltage. There has to be considerations for the other pins to ensure it's voltage rating is not exceeded, but we wanted a confirmation of this approach.

Thank You,

Infant Jesuraj
