LM3450: Looking for 24VDC - 12VDC Current Source IC for LED

Part Number: LM3450

Hello, I'm trying to convert a dual SCR based Triac 24V AC halogen fixture to LED, I have spent a long time with EE's trying to solve, trying to decode with Arduino, this works with anomalies, but an IC may be more appropriate. I am looking for advice for the best choice for my application. I came across the LM3450 but it says maximum 100W @ 2A.

My new LED is 120W - 12V - 10A

The things I would like are

  • Triac/Phase Angle Decoder
  • Dynamic Hold for Triac (Prevent Misfiring)
  • Constant Current
  • Buck Converter (24V - 12V)

Is it possible to drive a higher powered mosfet from this IC, or do you have another IC that accepts a lower input voltage? (The datasheet for this chip says Min 80V, Max 20V (not sure if this is a mistake)

  • Hi Tim,

At present, we have limited resource and knowledge to support this device. Normally, for such controller, you can choose higher power FET if the driver capability is enough to drive FET. At the same time, please pay attention to the thermal situation.
