Hello,
is it possible to power a buck-converter (design) directly from a 6V bike hub-dynamo instead of 5-36V DC? The existing design and device represents a bike tracker with internet-connectivity, initially designed for e-bikes.The reverse protection p-mosfet would act like a simple diode-rectifier.
Question: would it be necessary to mount supplimentary capacitance at the input of the buck-converter for ripple-reduction? At higher bike-speeds, the frequency of AC-supply (dynamo) increases and would make things easier...
The AC-current from hub-dynamo offers voltage supply with frequencies from 11Hz (speed 6km/h up to 90Hz (speed 47km/h). Peak-voltage 6V to 40V referred to same speed interval.
Thank's
Fritz
