LM2831: Phase margin question with Webench

Hi,

By adding land pattern of capacitor between Vout and FB, can his board adjust phase margin?
My customer plans to add land pattern of capacitor to adjust the phase margin.  If phase margin is failed on his actual board, he wants to add capacitor to adjust it.  Is his understanding correct?  If you have any other solution, please let us know.

Also, does Webench consider phase margin on LM2831?   There is no body plot simulation on LM2831 Webench.  So I want to confirm whether Webench simulate phase margin.

    Hello M.Hattori,

    Yes, this is one way if increasing the phase margin by adding an additional cap between Vout and FB pin which adds another zero and pole to the control loop to increase phase margin. This application note (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva466a/slva466a.pdf) can help you in understanding of this.

    But please make sure that, any changes does not affect the transient performance.

    Unfortunately, there is no bodeplot simulation available for this device on Webench.
