TPS25921A: Ringing on input line

Part Number: TPS25921A

A 5V, 1A wall adaptor powers the system through a 2meter cable attached before C48.  The output load is very light, typically less than 100mA.

At power-up with ILIM connected to 100K, the IN pin has a periodic glitch, about ever 1msec.  This prevents our down-stream buck regulator from running.

If I reduce ILIM resistor to 35.6K, this glitch goes away and the system runs normally.  Does anyone know what causes the circuit to not function when the ILIM is 100K?

Thank you

  • Hi Doug,

    Welcome to e2e.

Can you share waveform that shows VIN,VOUT, current into eFuse in same waveform?

Looks like the long cable is forming a huge inductance due to which there could be such transients.

Also if you could share layout file that will help.
