TPS2660: Fault output handling for eFuse

Guru 19485 points
Part Number: TPS2660
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25200, , TPS2662

One customer need to add external diode or resistor for TPS26602's fault output by application note slva934A.

https://www.ti.com/jp/lit/an/slva934a/slva934a.pdf

Please let me know about two points below;

①Are below IC possibility to the same fault problem (reverse)? or not need external diode or resistor?

 ⇒TPS25200, TPS26620, TPS259827

②Is TPS2660x on data code ≧2013 no problem to stay connect current limiting resistor?

By the way, are above IC (TPS25200, TPS26620, TPS259827) no problem, too?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

TPS25200 and TPS259827 does not provide dynamic reverse current blocking or reverse polarity support like TPS2660 or TPS2662

TPS26620 does not have this issue on fault output and even for TPS26602 the issue is fixed for the material with date code value ≥ 2013.

  • Hi Rakesh

    Thank you for reply,

    I understood Q&A for ①

About question ②, please let me know the affect of current limiting resistor on TPS2660x: ≥2013.

For example, the same board circuits are connecting current limiting resistor, but TPS26602 are mixed ≥2013 and <2013 version.

I want to confirm ≥2013 with current limiting resistor is problem or not.

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

You can use current limiting resistor at Fault output as default with all the material. It would not be a problem.

    Rakesh
