UC2842: Synchronization with external pulse - Interleaved boost converter

Part Number: UC2842

Hi,

I am using two UC2842 IC for interleaved boost converter with external clock synchronization at 180 deg phase shift. Below is the connection to make the current reference same for the both the PWM controller.

Please review the pros and cons of this concept.

In the below figure, will the top PWM IC can sink the internal current source generated in two uc2842?

  • Sankar,

Two excellent app notes for SYNC of multiple UC2842's are SLUA143 and SLUA110. By the way, from the small schematic snip you've shown, I see you have no capacitor on VCC? Also, in general it is not a good idea to connect the E/A outputs (COMP) together the way you have shown and this is discussed here in this E2E post. Thanks for connecting through E2E.

    Regards,
