LM25066I: can we use OPERATION(01h) to enable output when EN/UVLO is pulled down?

Part Number: LM25066I

Hello expert,

We would like to know can we use OPERATION(01h) to enable output when EN/UVLO is pulled down? Or do we have a configuration to set enable signal depends on internal PMBus command, not external hardware? Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

    Thanks for reaching out.

OPERATION (01h) command can't enable the output when EN/UVLO is pulled low. One option might be to pull up the EN/UVLO to directly VIN through a resistor (100 kΩ or more) instead of using the resistor divider. This will enable the controller always whenever VIN is more than UVLOTH as the UVLO is disabled. Now, OPERATION (01h) command can be used to enable the MOSFET through PMBus.

  • Hello Avishek,

Thanks for reply! But customer would like to control EN only by PMBus, we cannot tie EN to Vin since it will enable in the beginning. May we know if we cannot control LM25066I EN via PMBus without enabling by hardware in the first time? Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,

    Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,
