We designed an add on card with TPS5450 to supply a RPi 4 with 5V. We use 24V in.

Unfortunately the entire batch (1k) had to be replaced with off the shelf DC/DCs from China. We are now planning for the next batch and notice that the issue https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/260390/tps5450-instability-outright-failure-certain-vin-voltages is marked RESOLVED. What exactly does "resolved" mean? Has the chip, or the recommended layout, been amended? If so, when?

Hi.

There is nothing specifically wrong with the device. Looking at the old post from over 9 years ago, John provides some guidance on the schematic in that ENA should not be tied directly to VIN. ENA has a maximum pin voltage of 7V so tying it directly to VIN would result in damage to the part.

Resolved is usually clicked on the customer end to indicate that the issue they are experiencing has been resolved and the thread is to be closed.

We will make a few boards and report back after testing (it will take a while because everything is slow these days).
