BQ24160: Stand alone

Part Number: BQ24160

If we don't want to us the BQ24160 I2C bus communication, Can we use it on stand alone mode?

According to thre datasheet, there is default values for charging. However, when I connect a USB cable and a Li-ION battery, it doesn't charge at all.

Note R18 and R219 are not connected. V_BAT is connected to a 3000mAh and a USB connector is connected to V_USB and USB_DN, USB_DP.

Do you have an idea why the battery can not be charged.

Thanks

Damien

  • Damien,

The charger operates with default values in default mode. There is a minimum capacitance required on DRV pin.  What is the voltage at TS and USB pins?  Did DpDm detection result in 100mA input current limit and the SYS load is taking all that power?

    Regards,
