LM5164-Q1: Operating with multiple DC/DCs in parallel

Hello,

I have an application that may have place LM5164's in parallel. They would sit on separate boards connected by wire (coax). The total load should not exceed the capability of a single LM5164. Are there any concerns about the LM5164's operating incorrectly or being damaged in this situation? What about concerns with one being powered on and providing an output while another is powered off?

hi, Matthew,

I will not recommend direct using the LM5164 to do a parallel connecting, because it will have risk if one chip over current or short the others may not work.

please consider a kind of control the balancing of the current. not just a diode to connected.

You may want to refer to this app note on another device that using external components to balance and control the current
