TPS7H4002-SP: SEFI immunity

Part Number: TPS7H4002-SP

Hi! We are considering this device for a new space-grade design. The datasheet says that the component is "SET and SEFI characterized up to LET = 75 MeV-cm2/mg". In the Single-Event Effects test Report no explicit mention to SEFI is present. Can you confirm that the device is SEFI immune up to the specified LET? Thank you!

  • Hi,

TI's radiation handbook at link below shows SEFI to be a subset of SET in Figure 4-1.   I believe it is safe to assume that SET events in the radiation report cover potential SEFI events.  The report shows one SET event in Figure 8-1 where the regulated output voltage deviated from nominal by +4.9%.  In theory, functionality was interrupted momentarily during this event but the device recovered without intervention.  This is the only event observed during SEE testing.

    Thanks
