I am concerned that if the /SD pin has a slow rise time, the output may chattering on and off if noise on signal. Does the /SD pin have a schmitt trigger input or something similar?

Thank you for sharing the circuit diagram. 

Do you know what noise you are expecting? If it is only a few mV, I do not see this being an issue. 

What is the intended turn on time? I see 125us. This device has a Ton delay of 25us, and you have RC=100kOhm*10uF=1s.

Regarding the schmitt trigger, this is one of our older devices and will have to do some digging in order to obtain more information.

I haven't checked with the customer about the noise level, but it seems that a few millivolts would not be a problem.

I will check with the customer about the turn-on time of the target.
