Hi Team,

I'm trying to support a risk assessment on the LM76003 component. As the automotive variant is out of stock, I'd like further information.

My understanding is that there are 2 additional process steps for the automotive variant LM76003QRNPTQ1 vs industrial variant LM76003RNPR.

Could you please help to confirm the impact of those 2 steps on the fall out rate ?

- Reflow – Can TI define for a batch previously tested, quantity tested to quantity passed?

- X-Ray – What is the fall out from inspection process a batch in vs batch out?

Hello

I am afraid we can not share much detail.

The following is our response from our product engineer:

X-ray is done on sampling basis to check for any issues with wire bonds, void in the package and die attach, burr, detectable particles and any other issues that can be detected by X-ray.

Reflow is done to apply stress to make any marginal units fail and be screened at Test.

Is there any chance a fall out rate could be shared for these 2 steps ?

That would basically help understanding the risk of having an early failure due to a marginal unit if using industrial LM76003RNPR component.

Otherwise, would a reflow anyway detect the parts that would fail the XRay analysis?
