LM317: Hysteresis

Hello E2E,

Does the LM317 have hysteresis? The Application note and Datasheet seem to be contradicting, it said on page 17 that the LM317K has hysteresis, but in the datasheet of the LM317, on the load regulation line, it has no hysteresis.

    Hi Carlo,

    I'm not sure I understand the question. Are they asking for hysteresis for load regulation or current limit? In either case I don't believe any of our LDOs have hysteresis. Load regulation deviation is due to the output impedance of the LDO, and current limit is a control loop that limits the current to a particular value if more current than this limit is demanded.
