TLV743P: TLV743 output voltage not stable

Part Number: TLV743P

Hello,

I am using TLV743 for 2.5V fixed output. I have attached schematic for reference. When i am applying EFT (100KHz burst) level 4, at the output 2.5V goes to 1.5V  but my input to the IC which is 5V is stable. Output load = 5mA.

  • Hello,

Where are you applying 100kHz to? What is the amplitude of the 100kHz signal?

Do you have a scope shot of your input voltage and the signal you are applying?

I am thinking the signal may be putting the part into dropout, but would not be able to say for certain until I have seen scope shots at more test points.

    Best,

    Juliette

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

I have attached block diagram of my design. I am applying Electrical Fast transient ( ‎IEC 610000-4-4) of 4KV 100KHz at point A&B. During test At the input of TLV743 my 5V is stable but at the output it showing approx 1V dip. Load current of TLV743 = 6mA max. In previous message i have attached waveform during test. Yellow waveform = 2.5V (at output of TLV743) and Green waveform = 5V (at input of TLV743)

  • Hello,

Do you have current probe to measure the load? Are you using an ELoad or a resistive load?

Do you have a probe connecting to the Enable input?

The green waveform looks like a transient response after the part goes into dropout- i.e. the capacitors on the output helping the part recover back into regulation.

    Best,
