TPS2420: About Slew Rate specification

Please let me know about slew rate (rise time) specification or equation for TPS2420.

If slew rate equal to Turn on propagation delay, how is the time spec for /EN: low to start Vout rising?

In addition, is slew rate depend on VCT?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi,

Slew rate is VOUT voltage rate of rise. It is equal to VIN/Tcharge. Tcharge=time for VOUT to rise from 0 to VIN linearly.

TPS2420 uses power limiting . We have other efuse devices like TPS2595  that use inrush current limiting where we can program efuse for a specific slew rate, there we have a dvdt pin. cap on dvdt pin decides slew rate.

For tps2420, there is no equation to calculate slew rate in datasheet because efuse is not controlling slew rate it is limiting power . VCT does not determine vout charge time.

Please have a look at device like TPS2595 to understand the difference from TPS2420.
