Hi Team,

Can we use an aluminum electrolytic for output capacitor?
I believe we can use it however would like to confirm just in case.

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hello Yaita,

As long as the capacitance (at least 22uF if CADJ is used, 10uF otherwise) and ESR (0.5Ω < RESR < 5Ω) criteria are met, you may use Aluminum Electrolytic capacitors without encountering stability issues. Aluminum Electrolytic capacitors are typically more voluminous and have relatively inferior temperature stability. We therefore encourage the use of Tantalum capacitors for this device if possible. Thanks!
