UCC29002: Add 0.22uF between CS+ & CS-

Part Number: UCC29002

Hi Support team

my customer encountered the unstable issue w/ UCC29002, we fingered out the way to mitigated the noise coupling from current shunt resistor after add 0.22uF between CS+ & CS-

my question here is to know any side effect for this cap between CS+ & CS-, what is man / min values if this cap is needed

thanks a lot

  • Hi Red,

There is no special limit  added the cap on differential amplifier.

but with higher value cap on the CS+/- pin, it may influence the bandwidth of the Amplifier.

On a  normal design, it is recommended to add a cap below 1nF.

And if the noise on CS+/- is pretty high, and because UCC29002 do not need a high bandwidth for the sampling., 0.22uF may be possible. Please double confirm whether adding such high cap influence the speed that allow UCC29002 to do the load share.
