BQ2085-V1P3: differences between bq2085-V1P3 and bq2085

Hi Ti Experts,

we are using the bq2085-V1P3 with the AFE bq29311 in a 3S1P application.

Because of the current supply situation we can't get any bq2085-V1P3. But our customer has found a
supplier who can deliver bq2085.

What is the difference between these two devices? Is the difference in Firmware?

In the datasheet I could find that the Pin description of Pin29 ist not the same.

Hello Klaus,

The pins are are the same. There is just a difference in nomenclature. The firmware is different.

Is it possible to change the firmware with the "bq2083 EVSW" by using the SM-Bus?

Hello Klaus,

TI does not have any documentation on whether it is acceptable to change the firmware. You can try it at your own risk.
