LM21305: Input Capacitor

Hello,

I am unable to use Tantalum capacitors for the input capacitor (Cin1) (or at least is not recommended). Should I add an extra 22uF to get close to 47uF?

My 4 input caps are currently: 22uF, 22uF, 100nF, 100nF.

    Hi Lucas,

    Usually 47uF tantalum cap is to stabilize the bus voltage during a transient event. If your input voltage is stable, then 2x22uF+1x100nF input caps are good enough. Make sure to place them as close as possible at the input pin to provide a short bypass path for ripple current.
