TLV62084: soft-start time

Hi Team,

just want to double check with you if the soft-start time can be changed when Vout is fixed through external parameters.

#1 Datasheet mentioned that its Vout ramp slew rate is fixed, so the soft-start time at a fixed Vout cannot be changed, right?

#2 And the mechanism of internal soft-start is just like connecting a cap on Vref pin, right?

Hi Given,

Soft start time is defined by the internal circuit depending on the output voltage. If you would like to modify the parameter, there is an application report explaining how to extend the soft start time using an external circuit (Resistor, Capacitor and diode).

If you would proceed with this methodology, I would highly recommend to check for control loop stability and voltage regulation with the additional circuit.

Thanks for your reply.

Customer has added the circuit and make soft-start longer.

I want to check on how to test " control loop stability and voltage regulation with the additional circuit" as you mentioned.

#a. For loop stability, test bode plot and load transient， right?

#b. For voltage regulation, test load regulation and line regulation, right?
