LM73606-Q1: VCBOOT_UVLO temperature characteristics

Part Number: LM73606-Q1

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating EMI with additional boot resister.

VCBOOT_UVLO datasheet spec is min 1.6V, typ 2.2V, max 2.7V, and VCC spec is typ 3.27V.

They have to avoid boot UVLO so they want to make sure the voltage at CBOOT - SW always higher than VCBOOT_UVLO range. But since there is a diode between VCC and CBOOT, 3.27V - Vf is already very close to 2.7V.

Could you provide VCBOOT_UVLO temperature characteristics?

I guess VCBOOT_UVLO has temperature drift to fit with Vf's temperature drift and, they can use 2.2V instead of 2.7V in 25degC condition.

Best Regards,

  • Hello

The specifications in the EC table for Vcboot-uvlo (1.6V to 2.7V) are the min and max range over temperature and process variations.

Keep in mind that the use of a resistor in series with the BOOT capacitor is not recommended.  If hardware testing reveals that a BOOT

resistor is the only way to mitigate EMI issues, then the resistor value should be limited to the low single digit Ohm range.  A place holder on the

PCB can be included for a series resistor.  This should be populated with a 0 Ohm resistor.

If a series resistor is used, the application must be tested carefully, over temperature, to ensure that the regulator will start-up correctly

and that the system efficiency is not adversely affected.

    Thanks
