TPS2H160-Q1: please help confirm this!

Hi Team,

There is a good new that we DIN TPS2H160-Q1

And there have one thing need your support!

Due to customer needs, the TPS2H160-Q1 is required to diagnose whether there is open circuit or short circuit,
The waveform of IN1/IN2/DIAG_EN/FAULT/SEL has been confirmed to be correct (so this part does not need to be considered), and detecting short circuits is not much of a problem.
It is mainly used to detect open circuits. When detecting open circuits, we need to connect R91 and R92 (20K is used in the reference specification), and open circuits can also be detected.
However, when R91 & R92 are loaded, in normal operation mode (IN1 & IN2 OFF), the LED will be always on (the voltage measured by Vout1 is about 3.xV), the main reason is that Vin passes through R91 to the LED light.

(Vin = Vs =12V , and the left half is controlled by MCU (+3V3))

Hi Kygo,

It seems the load is around 6k from the calculation so that Vout1 is about 3.xV? Would increase the pull-up to say 100k help the situation as it will make the Vout1 to be low enough to not trigger the LED at the output?

We have replaced to 100k, but the situation is not very well.
1. When I use 100k to pull-up the VOUT1, I cannot detect the open load.
2. Although the leakage current is lower than 20k pull-up resistor, it still observes the LED is triggered.

Hi Kygo,

Just to confirm.

1. When you use 100k and say can't detect the open load, you have no load connected correct? What's the voltage you observed at output pin in this case?

2. With the LED, it's not open load correct? What's the load profile with the LED connected?

Hi Yichi

When the load open(no load connected), the output voltage equals 10V.

If I connected the LED, the output voltage(Vout1) equaled 3.6V(IN1 = Low). Hope it is useful for you.

Hi Kygo,

When the LED is connected (not open load), from the calculation, the load will be 43k. Is this the actual load expected? Just to confirm, when there is open-load, LED will be disconnected as well; when the load is connected, the LED is also connected correct?

因为LED连接时候的电阻经过计算大约是43k，确认一下，真实的负载也是43k左右吗？当电路开路的时候，LED的连接也会断开是吗？如果能给一个LED和负载连接的示意图会帮助很多谢谢。

確認真實的負載是48k ,THX

測試手法如下：

不接LED/Buzzer，測試其是否偵測到Open/Short -> 可以的

但接了LED/Buzzer之後，會有漏電流導致在使用上會有問題(也是目前需要解決的部份)

Hi Kygo,

目前这种情况好像只能选择一个-让开路保护工作，LED会发光，或者开路保护不工作，LED不发光。如果要开路保护工作，需要一个小一些的pullup，如果要让LED不发光，需要一个大一些的（>700k）的pullup。
