BQ24085: About 1S2P Li-Ion Battery

Part Number: BQ24085

Hello Expert,

This is very simple inquiry.

Is there no issue if we use 1S2P Li-Ion Battery (3.7V/800mAh x 2ea) to this charger?

If there will be issue, could you explain to me more detail?

Best regards,

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

In general, you should be fine using the 1S2P configuration. The only concern I could see is if you have separate protectors for each of the two packs. I could see an issue with two separate protectors when one triggers but not the other and all of the CHG current designated for both packs now gets sent to the only one still connected.

So long as you implement this solution with only 1 protector, you should not run into any issues.

    Best Regards,

    Jackson
