I need to design SMPS with below specs

Input- 85V to 265 V AC 50/60Hz OR 120 V to 375 V DC

Output Voltage: 24V DC

Output Current: 42A DC (Continuous)

Boost Current: 50A (5 sec)

Efficiency : >90%

Active PFC

Protections: Over voltage, Over current, Over temperature

Load Regulation < 1%

Line Regulation <0.5%

Output Ripple <50mV

Casing: Aluminium (DIN RAIL mount)

We have already developed SMPS 480W (TIDA-010015) and 240W (PMP22087) based on TI reference designs.

Can we use TIDA-010015 design as base to convert it to 1kW SMPS ?

If not which reference design or chipset you would suggest.

Hi Pravin,

For 1kW output power, Phase shift full bridge converter is recommended.

I have already notified one of my colleague who supports PSFB controllers. He will share the reference design for the power level you are looking for.

Hello,

I found this 2 kW reference design that has a PFC front end controlled by the UCC28180 and a UCC28951 that controls a PSFB.

On future designs you can go to the TI reference design center and input the input and output power requirements. This search engine will search the TI reference design library and list any reference designs that TI has done that may reach your power requirements.
