Can you provide some detail on why/how the non-space graded component ( plastic package regulator, hex invertor and or lvds receiver ICs ) OR ( (LM317  regulator instead of the space qualified regulator (TPS7A4501) may fail when operated between 0 & 30kft?  What is it about the change in altitude that can cause a failure

                         Please note that TI's LDO products are not tested for performance at high altitudes. Assuming that there is no de-soldering or exposure to moisture during transportation, low temperature (for LM317 junction temperature less than 0ºC could cause device to fall out of spec) and/or Arcing across pins could cause damage.     The operation temperature of the unit (LM317A) version is -40 to +125. it is my mistake if I did not name it specifically. Junction  temperature is not the issue -40 right?   For the arcing across pins could be minimized or eliminated by conformal coating or any other type of coating or getting more distance pins in the layout?

                         Yes, the conformal coating and additional spacing would help reduce the risk of arcing. Apart from this, if the ambient temperature is within the recommended range, I do not see any other concerns. Thanks!
