BQ24210: Use Solar panel and USB-C power to charge Li-ion/poly battery

Part Number: BQ24210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25100

Hi,

I'm working on a Li-ion/Poly battery charger design that includes the following power sources:

a Solar panel driving a 5.5Vdc / 5~30mA  ( would like to charge at the lowest current possible supported by the charger IC)
a USB-C voltage connector ( we limit the current to 0.5A)

the required charge voltage is 4.2Vdc

I'm looking for a suitable charger IC to support both sources and especially - would operate in the low currents of the Solar panel and would limit to 0.5A when on USB.

Additional requirements - a "Standalone" solution (RC-settable), minimum peripheral components, can be a "linear" type (not switching - to minimize noise)

One of the candidates who came is the BQ24210 - would it meet the needs?

Thanks
