TPSM846C24: Can TPSM846C24 replace TPS846C23 without PMBus function

Part Number: TPSM846C24
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM846C23

hi team,

can we use TPSM846C24 replace C23 directly(two phase in parallel)? the PMBus function only used for overcurrent limit setting, so we plan to set PMBus related pin to DNC and test overcurrent performance and also below basic test items, do you have any other suggestions? are there anything we missed?

Yes, the TPSM846C23 and TPSM84C24 both use the same default 0.5V reference voltage, integrated inductor and control loop parameters.  Without the PMBus command access, the current limit will be set to it's default level, which can allow more current to flow during a short-circuit or overload conduction, but under normal operating conditions, the two modules will operate similarly.
