TPS730: External Drop Out Diode Protection

  We usually use an external drop-out diode protection to protect the LDO during programing or when the output is higher than the input. The reverse current has not been specified in the datasheet. Could you please let me know what is the reverse current spec is for this part and if using external drop-out diode protection is necessary?

    Hi Matt,

    From the datasheet:

    There is no built-in reverse current protection, so reverse current is not limited or specified. You will need to use the external protection diode if you anticipate reverse biasing conditions.
