The datasheet mentions that the integrated End-Of-Service (EOS) Determination function is specifically intended for applications where the battery is rarely discharged, such as in uninterruptible power supplies etc. What is the performance of the chip if the battery is mostly in discharged state or degraded state?

Hello Sateesh,

You can use other gauges for frequently discharged batteries. For example bq34z100 which has a SOH(State of health) that can be used to determine End of service as well as estimate remaining capacity.

Our application as such is the case of rarely discharged batteries, however if the battery is degraded then we want the chip to provide accurate remaining time (Time to Empty) data. Will BQ34110 suite our requirement or should we use some other chip?

The bq34110 will meet your requirement. It will set alerts when the battery is degraded.
