BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW: Getting unknown permanent fails

I have a few batteries coming back from customers in PF status, but none of the PF thresholds were met. I also don't understand how to read the PF status data to determine how the PF was triggered. I have attached one battery data files here, perhaps you could help me understand what happened?

  • Hi Aaron,

    Your .gg.csv file does not show any record of permanent fails. Did you export this from one of the failing packs? This shows the data flash settings, and there is some information recorded here like Lifetime data and PF data. 

    If you want to look at the current state of the registers, if you can connect the device to BQStudio, you can read the device registers such as PF Alert and PF Status. It would be best to just click the 'Start Log' button on the BQStudio Registers screen to record the state of all of the registers.

    thanks for the help! I did export this from one of the failing packs. Unfortunately I don't have access to this pack anymore. Is there any way to see from this data report what the issue was, or can I only do that from BQ Studio?

    Unfortunately I do not see much in either of these files. There is no PF event recorded.
