BQ78350-R1: Cycle Count increment twice in one discharge cycle

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

HI

In the attached file you can see at Colum Y that the Cycle count increment twice in one discharge cycle.

We are not writing to the BQ78350-R1.

Battery capacity : 5000mAH

We defined Cycle Count Percentage = 70% because we intended to discharge the battery only until 21V.

Please advice how to prevent such behavior.

Thanks

We are using 7S-1P, Bq78350-R1Cycle13 - Cycle15.xlsx

  • Hi Nati,

The log file looks correct to me. The Cycle count is changed to 14 at 98% SOC and then when it reaches 28% SOC (98-28 = 70%) the cycle count increments.

One thing to keep in mind with the Cycle Count - the cycle count accumulates over multiple cycles. So for example, if you discharged by 68% on the previous cycle and then charged the battery, the cycle count will increment after only 2% discharge on the next cycle. It does not reset. So it will not always increment at the same point in the discharge cycle.

    Best regards,

    Matt
