TPS65150: TPS65150 Negative charge pump output can't reach to -11V

Part Number: TPS65150

Hi Team,

Customer use negative charge pump to output -11V/20mA but failed( -9V output setting will be normal).  Vout=10.98V, so the Vsup is 10.98. I'm not sure if that's the reason. The divider resistance and flying capacitance met requirements in datasheet. SCH is attached for your reference.

I’d like to know that what the minimum voltage that negative charge pump are able to output.  If negative charge pump can output -11V, why this failure happened?  If can’t, could you pls give some guide on how to realize -11V output?

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Rayna,

Negative charge pump is supplied from AVDD (VOUT) and there are internal current source and diode drops so the most negative it can output is typically AVDD output -1.8V inverted. So -9V is about right. Customer will need to either increase AVDD (VOUT) or set negative charge pump resistor dividers to -9V or so. I do not see any other way out of this.

    Kind Regards,

    Liaqat
