BQ2980: wake it up after inserting battery without signal on PACK+

Hello,

I didn't get clear from previous collegue question.

I would like to understand clearly : 

1. Do the  BQ298xyz can only wake up with PACK+ from charger ? if does why it is the case? i dont understand the logic behind this. for example smarthpones are ON even before plug it to a charger.

2. Is there any way to wake it up after inserting battery without signal on PACK+ ? please suggest how.

    Hello Eyall,

    The only way to wake up the device is with a high voltage on the Pack+ pin. There has to be a signal on Pack+.

    If there is a light load, the FETs may be able to pull up Pack+ to wake the part on cell attachment. Larger loads would require the charger to be plugged in.
