TPS61098: Mode and Iq

Part Number: TPS61098

Hello Expert,

I have some questions.

1. Is the difference between ACTIVE MODE and LOW POWER MODE just the difference of turning off the internal LDO/load switch (Vsub) and keep on boost?

2. Is there any difference between MAX output current (OUTPUT CURRENT) when setting ACTIVE MODE and LOW POWER MODE?

    Is it same as below?

3. What is the meaning of IQ(VIN) and IQ(VMAIN) below?

   Especially, I don't know well about IQ(VMAIN).

   Because VMAIN is boost output.

Best regards,

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for reaching out. Please see the reply below:

    1. Yes. In low power mode, the LDO/Load switch is off and boost output side is still on. In active mode, both two output is enabled.

    2. Please note that ILIM(BST) refers to boost switch current limit (inductor peak current limit), not the boost converter output current limit.

No matter in active mode or low power mode, the boost switch current limit is same.

    3. Iq means the quiescent current at no switching mode. For this device, the internal circuit is either supplied by the higher voltage between VIN and VMAIN.
