LM5035: comp configuration

Part Number: LM5035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC25800

Hi team,

Here is an application that we are reaching to you here.

My ctm is wanting to use LM5035 as a open-loop controller for a 50% duty cycle half bridge LLC such as our UCC25800 for larger power.

Could you help with follwing two questions:

Q1: if there is any seen risk that LM5035 used in a open loop condition with no feedback loop?

Q2: if LM5035 is okay to use under open loop, 'floating comp' or 'connect comp to gnd' which one is the right choice here?

Thanks

Best regards

Mia Ma

  • Hi Mia,

    Answers to your questions:

Q1: if there is any seen risk that LM5035 used in a open loop condition with no feedback loop?

[ANS]: No problem. Since LM5035 includes SR drive, this controller is intended for fairly high power compared to UCC25800.

Q2: if LM5035 is okay to use under open loop, 'floating comp' or 'connect comp to gnd' which one is the right choice here?

[ANS]: Connect COMP to GND so that 0-mA is sourced into the current mirror which will result in max (50% x 2) duty cycle.
