Hello Team ,

I am Designing BMS on two different ICs :

1. BQ2085

2. BQ3050

I need Help in Writing and Testing SMbus Firmware for It. Target Microcontroller is Arduino Atmega and PIC (dsPIC30F) .

Any suggestion where can i Get Ready to use Working Library/ Example Reference code for Same ?

Hello Bhupendra,

SMBus drivers are inbuilt in all major operating systems. Look for ACPI drivers and within that the implementation for SBS specification

Thanks Shirish for Prompt answer ,

But I think we can not Run ACPI driver on Arduino OR PIC(dsPIC30F) ... The case here is Communicating BQ series IC with MCU using SmBus.

Hello Bupendra,

Normally the microcontroller vendor provides working code/libraries.

For example if you were to use TI's MSP430 series of products, the SMBus library is here https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP430-SMBUS. This may serve as a good example for your implementation too.

However , I am Novice to TI`s MSP430 , was looking for Arduino / PIC.

Can we integrate MSP430 SMbus Library to Arduino OR PIC ?

Hello Bhupendra,

The hardware mapping will be different. It will not work as-is. You can try searching on the Arduino forums.
