TPS54329: replace device for TPS54339

Hi Sir,

My customer would like to use TPS54329DDAR to replace TPS54339DDAR since the device shortage.

TPS54239 is an older device than TPS5433, right?

The design condition is 12Vin to 1.2~5Vout / Iout 3A.

Could you please help us to check any side effects for the design condition or H/W application? If not, could you please recommend a suitable one? Thanks!

    Hi Henry,

    Yes TPS54329 has slightly higher LS FET rdson and nominal frequency than TPS54339. So, the efficiency on the TPS54329 may be slightly lower. But otherwise the performance should be identical. You can also look at TPS54327/8 and its corresponding 4A/5A versions too if interested. TPS54327/8 both have slightly higher nominal frequency (700kHz) and SS current so you will need to redesign the SS cap on these. Between TPS54327/8 the TPS54327 operates in FPWM vs TPS54328 operates in Auto PFM/PWM for higher efficiency at lighter loads.
