Hi Bhupendra,
Please look at TI product page here: https://www.ti.com/power-management/battery-management/charger-ics/products.html
Using the parametric search tool on the left hand side, you can select control interface -> SMBus to see our charger portfolio which use SMBus communication. You can then filter based off of the rest of your system needs to narrow down charger IC choices
Thanks Kedar ,
I have gone through that but not found suitable to my requirement.
I am Targeting Like this :
Any suggestion on for this System to work ?
Hi,
Please check out BQ25720. you can find it in search tool. It can support up to 4S and communicates via SMBus. In fact all the other chargers which get filtered by SMBus communication can support up to 4S (19.2V Charge regulation voltage). Please check again. The tool is very helpful.
Hello Kedar,
As its Block diagram Single SMBus on BQ25720 OR Other ICs are to communicate with HOST ( PC/ MCU ) , but not to BQ2085 / BQ3050.
If single SMbus used with HOST then we would need another SMbus to be communicated with BQ ics.
Correct me if i m missing anything here...
Hi,
Yes, the charger IC would be operated as a peripheral device, and not as a host. You will need an external host controller to configure the registers of the charger IC.
Okay,
So , In that case , as per my requirement no TI charger part is suitable.
Thanks
I2C allows multiple peripheral device to connect to 1 host. You would need 1 host controller to control the charger IC and the gauge. This is standard. But yes, this charger cannot operate without host, as you would need a host controller to write to the BQ charger IC to configure the registers for charging.
