UCC38C42: PDIP package to EOL?

Part Number: UCC38C42

Hi Team,

I have a customer reaching out if we are going to EOL the PDIP package of the UCC38C42 with part number UCC38C42P? I see that it is still active in our website, but they did receive a PCN that the PDIP version of this part will discontinue. Can you confirm this?

Also, if we are going to discontinue this part, what do you recommend as an alternative?

Thanks!

BR,

Alfred

Obsolescence guidelines would be disclosed within the PCN received by the customer and TI's PCN obsolescence policies are outlined here. Our industry has been moving away from PMIC PDIP packages for many years now. The most common package conversion from PDIP would be SOIC and both of these UCC38C42 packages are pin-to-pin, functionally equivalent but would require a revision to the PCB since they are not drop in replacements for each other.
