BQ29410: wrong connection sequence

Hello Team,

will the BQ29410 be destroyed if, e.g. during manufacturing process, the connections between battery cells and the IC-pins VC1, VC2, VC3, VC4 are done with the wrong sequence? I guess not. Only the OUT pin may be activated, correct?

Please confirm or correct my assumption.

Hey Hans,

The datasheet says that not connecting the cells in the correct sequence can result in incorrect output activation. The device itself should not be destroyed.

I don't like the "should" in your answer ;-) May I ask you to confirm that the IC will not be destroyed in case of wrong connection sequence, please.

Hey Hans,

See the Absolute Maximum Ratings table in the datasheet. Regardless of connection order, as long as the pin voltages don't exceed those values, the part will not be damaged.
