BQ27742EVM: BQ27742-G1

Part Number: BQ27742EVM

Hi,

My gauge responded properly before. I checked the voltage reading also. Now I was trying shutdown mode, but I couldn't. Now my gauge is not giving voltage readings also. How to cross verify whether the ic on bq27742 evm is working fine. I checked current, it is giving 400uA current, not entering into shutdown mode.

Thank you,

Kavya.

  • Hello Kavya,

The gauge will not respond in shutdown mode. Connect a charger to wake it up so that it can communicate.

  • Hi Shirish,

I tried with connecting battery to pack+ and pack-. and removed after sometime so that gauge might be wake. I think gauge is not in shutdown mode. Because, I'm getting 400uA, which is not range of shutdown current. Correct me if I'm wrong. I checked VREG25 pin by connecting CELL+ and CELL-. I'm getting 0.4V on it. Is it ok. Or should it be 2.5v on power ON.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kavya.

  • Hello Kavya,

VREG25 will be at 2.5V when not in shutdown. Note that cell should be connected between CELL+ and CELL- and charger should be connected to PACK+ and PACK-. The cell connection is never typically removed.
