TPS53915: TPS53915RVER

Part Number: TPS53915
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS549A20

I was also looking another Device from TI "TPS53915RVER" as an alternate part of "TPS549A20RVER".

As i know TPS53915RVER is a 12A device, which is good enought for the design load.

One thing i notied in the data sheet that the operating temperature of the "TPS53915RVER"  is lower (Max is +85DegC) as compared with existing part "TPS549A20RVER" (Max +125DegC).

Please comment on this.

Are there any other difference between two devices?

The TPS53915EVER and the TPS549A20 are pin to pin compatible and functionally equivalent devices, but there are some minor part to part differences that can drive some additional external component changes.

    1) As you not, the operating temperature range of the TPS549A20 is specified over a wider temperature range.

    2) The higher current rating

    3) lower Rdson for the Power FETS, which can drive changes in the ITRIP resistor to maintain the same over current protection limit.

Their Default configurations through PMBus are the same, and they will select the same PMBus address with the same selection resistors on ADDR
