Hi

I am Looking for boost converter 

requirements
1) input voltage range is 2.7v-4.2V
2) Output volage should be 5V/8A

Please suggest me the is this Part Number(TPS61178) is  Suitable to our design ?

Please help me on this

    Hi Sanjeevini,

    5V/8A output power is too large for TPS61178 or any other converter solutions. Because the input is 2.7V min, the input average current will be more than 15A. The input peak current limit will be even larger considering inductor current ripple. TPS61178 peak current limit is 10A and TPS61288 is 15A. May I ask what is the target EE and why the output side need such large current? Maybe you can consider boost controller such as LM5155 or LM5123 if such large current is really needed.
